How Buildlas makes money.
Some links to shops on this site are affiliate links. If you follow one and buy something, the retailer pays us a small commission. It costs you nothing extra, and the price you pay is the same either way.
Right now, on this site
521 product links on Buildlas are affiliate links, covering Banggood. Every one of them is marked where it appears, and carries rel="sponsored" so that browsers and search engines can see it is paid too. Every other link (manufacturer stores, product pages, the sources under the guides) earns us nothing at all.
Banner advertising
The landing page carries one Banggood banner, marked “Advertisement”. It is a paid placement: following it and buying earns us a commission. It is not a recommendation, it is not chosen to match anything you are building, and it has no connection to the compatibility results.
The banner image itself is served from this site rather than loaded from Banggood, so displaying it sends nothing about you to them. Product photographs elsewhere on the site are different: those are loaded from Banggood's servers, and what we store explains what that reveals.
What a commission does not buy
It does not buy a place in the results, and it does not move a product up a list. Compatibility is decided by rules that are published in full on the compatibility rules page and read the same specifications for every product, whether or not there is a link beside it. A part that does not fit is shown as not fitting.
It does not decide what is in the catalog either. Products are added because they are what people actually build with, and plenty of them have no shop link of any kind.
How you can tell
- An affiliate link is labelled as one where it appears.
- It carries
rel="sponsored"in the markup. You can check any link on this site by inspecting it. - Where no commission exists, no disclosure is shown, because claiming one would be as misleading as hiding one.
Prices
A retailer's price is only ever shown together with the date it was read, and it stops being shown once it is older than the retailer's refresh window. The link stays and the number goes, because a stale price is the one figure a reader acts on immediately.
Two kinds of figure carry no single date, because they are not one price on one day: a range across several builds of a product, where each end has its own date, and a build total, which is a sum of prices read on different days. Both are marked as what they are. Our own estimates carry no date either and say so wherever they appear. The price and the availability that count are the ones on the retailer's own page at checkout.

Where you end up
Following a shop link takes you to that company's site, under their terms and their privacy policy. Buildlas is not the seller, takes no payment, and is not party to the purchase. We are not told what you look at there or what you buy. See what we store for the rest.
